Spring is Here!

It seems to be that the rainy season has passed and the weather is now beautiful (so we hope!). Jason has been working a lot of hours again but today we had some much needed family time together. We checked out the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary today and went to Chipotle for lunch -- our favorite!

Anna looks like she should be drinking a mint julep (virgin of course =) ) and betting on horses in her pretty hat. She knows how to accessorize too -- that's her 2008 gold medal from gymnastics that she wears on special occasions =).

This deer had a ton of room to roam but preferred to rest where the children could pet her.

Ben all chilled out as usual =)

Anna loves trains and when we left the zoo she said " bye, I love you train"

We had a little birthday party for Anna and Ben together at a local pizza place when Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen were out here visiting from Minnesota. Benji didn't really know what was going on except that he was getting a lot of attention but Anna thought the pizza party was the best thing ever ... it was really cute.

Here are some other recent cute photos of the kids:

One of Ben's favorite things to do lately is climb in Anna's toddler car seat like he's a big boy!

Anna all dressed up like usual. She rarely passes on the chance to wear a "pretty dress" and a flower in her hair.

Grandpa and Grandma Rasmussen gave Ben blocks for his b-day but the box that the blocks came in are even better!

Happy Birthday Anna!

Anna turned the big 3 on Tuesday! She has become fascinated with birthdays so she was more than ecstatic that it was finally her special day. We celebrated by making cupcakes for Anna to share with her friends at preschool. Our kitchen was the messiest I've ever seen it after we had fun with food coloring and lots of sprinkles! Anna wore the "birthday crown" at school today and was excited to be with her friends. We're going to go out for pizza this weekend with the family to celebrate both Ben and Anna's b-days but of course she had to blow out the candles on her actual birthday =).

My nieces Maddie and Olivia celebrated their birthdays together this past weekend. Anna was especially excited about busting open the pinata this year. She also had fun playing on the jump house with her cousins. Ben loved being around everyone and stuffing his face whenever he could =).

The kids decorated these cupcakes =)

Here's our cute Benji. His hair is getting long and we don't know what to do with it!

Home Again, Home Again ...

We are home again after our second getaway in February. We went to visit my sister Angie and her family in Huntington Beach, CA for a few days. The weather was rainy and cold in Sacramento but when we arrived in Huntington Beach it was beautiful and sunny! Jason had the whole month of February off from work but he is now back to the grind until he graduates in June. Here are some photos from our trip down south:

Here we are at Fashion Island Mall in Newport Beach. How many malls are there that have a beach view???

Benji turned 1 on 2/27! We can't believe how fast the year has gone by! We feel so blessed to have such an amazing little boy. We celebrated with yummy cupcakes that Anna picked out on his special day. Here are some pics:
